Howdy! You’re invited to join a warm community of foster, adoptive, and kinship care families as we gather at beautiful Lake Whitney State Park for a weekend of outdoor fun, fellowship, and adventure.
Throughout the weekend, your family can move at your own pace—jumping into activities that sound fun while also enjoying downtime to relax and connect. Please be sure to read all of the information below before purchasing your family pass.
This event is only open to foster, adoptive, and kinship care families.
Lodging Options & Registration Information
Choose the lodging option that best fits your family. Each family pass includes the two parents/guardians and children in your household and covers:

Do not register for a ticket type you do not intend to use in order to secure a spot.

If your preferred site or ticket type is full and the waitlist is not yet available, please email rachel@embracetexas.org to be added to the waitlist for that specific site type.
Available Lodging Options
Tent Sites – $200
Includes a picnic table, water hookup, 50-amp electric hookup, and fire ring. Sites are near restrooms with showers.
Families must bring their own tents and bedding.
Screen Shelters – $250
Includes a screen shelter with a cement floor, picnic table, and fire ring.
⚠️ No beds are provided—please bring your own bedding, padding, or cot.
Availability is limited and offered first come, first served.
RV / Camper / Trailer Campsites – $250
For families bringing their own RV, camper, or trailer. Sites include a picnic table, water hookup, sewer hookup, 50-amp electric hookup, and fire ring.
👉 Do not select this ticket unless you are bringing an RV, camper, or trailer.
Single-Parent Shared Site Add-On – $100
Available only to single-parent households who wish to share a site with another household. These families must register together. This add-on must be selected in conjunction with a site ticket and is not available to two-parent households who choose to send one parent.
If your family needs an additional hand (grandparent, nurse, etc.) beyond the two adults included in your household, you may add on the Additional Adult/Caregiver ticket for $35.
We don't want the price of attendance to be a barrier for your family to participate. Don't forget about post adopt services - they typially have funds to help adoptive families with events like this, along with many others! If you are in need of a payment plan or have other questions regaridng cost, please email rachel@embracetexas.org.
Additional Information
Animals: While we love our furry friends, pets are not permitted in or around the group hall where meals are served due to allergies and safety concerns. They are also not permitted in screen shelters or other buildings in the state park- see the park website for additional information.
What to Bring: We will email you a packing list we’ve created to help you plan.
Food: Meals will be provided from Friday dinner through Sunday breakfast. Families with special dietary needs should plan to bring food accordingly.

Cornhole and other outdoor games
Nature scavenger hunt
Weather & Cancellation Policy
This event will take place rain or shine.
You may cancel for any reason up to 30 days before the event and receive a refund minus a $25 cancellation fee.
Refunds requested within 30 days of the event will not be issued.

Please do not register for a site type you do not intend to use (for example, tent camping at an RV site).
